Please join us in the great outdoors for a tasty summer BBQ, some fun, and help raise awareness, and funds for vasculitis research.

We are delighted to confirm that on Sunday, July 5th 2015, Vasculitis Foundation Canada will co-host the 2nd annual BBQ and fundraiser walk “BriStrength” at Couchiching Park, Pavillion 2, on the waterfront in Orillia, Ontario between 9:30AM and 2:30PM. This annual walk, in the memory of Orillia’s own Brianna Liddard, aims to raise funds to support medical research, but also to increase public awareness, and patient education, about vasculitis. The BriStrength Walk includes: BBQ, snack, cake, t-shirt, carry bag, draws and prizes, don’t miss it! Cash donations, donated prizes for the silent auction etc. are always needed and welcome, please let us know if you can contribute something.

Brianna Liddard of Orillia was diagnosed in emergency with a severe form of the vasculitis Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis which initially attacked her lungs. At just 18 years of age she put up a courageous fight but succumbed to complications after about four weeks in hospital on January 24, 2014.

Join the activities and WALK to raise funds for vasculitis research. Walk sponsors contribute to you, and they get a tax deduction receipt for their donation. Even if you are not able to attend the event in person, or walk, we will have volunteer walkers, walk for you!

You can also sign up your sponsors online!

For more information, or to register by phone, contact Sheri-Leigh Liddard at 705 345-5543.

You may also know fundraising for vasculitis research is not exactly common, so we need to work twice as hard to raise funds.  And, you can easily spread the word on social media during the registration process, so give it a try. And remember, no donation is too small, or too BIG!

We are sure your family and friends will support your goal, and ours, to heighten awareness while helping to raise much needed research funds.

On behalf of the Board, we hope to see you, your family and friends on Sunday, July 5th, 2015.

Don’t miss it, and bring the whole family for a summer BBQ!  One way, or the other, join us in walking for a great cause.

Keep well, and get out those walking shoes and join us!
