The 2018 AGM for Vasculitis Foundation Canada (VFC) will be held on April 14, 2018 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 126, 334 Westminster Drive, Cambridge,\u00a0Ontario.<\/p>\n

The VFC AGM is the foundations annual obligation to, amongst other things, receive the Directors\u2019\/President\u2019s report on the current and future business of the foundation,\u00a0receive the Treasurer\u2019s report and financial statements for the 2017 calendar year, receive the auditor\u2019s report and appoint auditors for the new year. \u00a0 Members also vote\u00a0to elect officers (President, Treasurer and Secretary) and directors for the new year as well as transact any other business that may properly come before the meeting.<\/p>\n

The AGM starts at 2:30PM, however, arrival and registration runs between 11:00 and 11:45AM. Lunch runs from 11:45AM to 12:30PM followed by our welcoming remarks and\u00a0introduction of our guest speaker who will speak and answer questions between\u00a01:00 and 2:15PM. \u00a0Don\u2019t miss it! \u00a0Remember, memberships must be current to vote!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our guest speaker is June Martin and\u00a0has been a registered dietitian for 18\u00a0years and has always been interested in how different diseases are affected by what we eat. \u00a0She works at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener and is part of the regional renal program for patients with kidney disease.\u00a0 In addition to the usual patient education, she has participated in chef-led practical cooking demonstrations, developed innovative kidney-friendly cookbooks and collaborated nationally on a patient focused national nutrition website. \u00a0Most of her patients are dealing with more than one diet. \u00a0They may already be following a cardiac, diabetic or celiac diet as well! \u00a0One thing she loves about her work is that there is no standard diet \u2013 everyone is different \u2013 so it\u2019s never boring!\u00a0<\/p>\n
