The VFC AGM is the foundation\u2019s annual obligation to, amongst other things, receive the President\/Director\u2019s report on the current and future business of the foundation,\u00a0receive the Treasurer\u2019s report and financial statements for the 2021 calendar year, and appoint accountants for the new year. \u00a0 Members also vote\u00a0to elect officers (President, Treasurer and Secretary) and directors for the new year, as well as transact any other business that may properly come before the meeting.<\/p>\n

The 2022 Vasculitis Foundation Canada (VFC) AGM will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 12 Noon ET online, and by phone, via ZOOM. The AGM starts at 12:00 Noon ET, however, online arrival and sign-in starts at 11:30 AM ET. The number of ZOOM attendees may be limited, sign-in earlier rather than later!<\/p>\n

Join us with guest speaker Dr. Velma Mockett who will speak on \u201cPatient Tools\u201d for better vasculitis mental health – and who doesn\u2019t want that!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Coping with Vasculitis and COVID-19<\/strong> has not been easy for any of us, so it\u2019s probably time for a check-in on the mental health aspect of our overall health<\/strong>. Velma is a licenced, experienced, mental health expert, vasculitis patient and Calgary Vasculitis Association co-founder, see:\u00a0https:\/\/calgaryvasculitis.com<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0She has developed numerous mental health resources including an online series to help individuals with vasculitis improve their mental health and wellbeing. The mental health impact of Vasculitis compounded by a Pandemic is not adequately addressed within our care settings<\/strong>\u00a0and can lead to a diminished quality-of-life.\u00a0\u00a0Vasculitis and a pandemic can be very isolating<\/strong>, which can lead to feelings of being overwhelmed, anxiety, and even depression. \u00a0Join Velma as she breaks down coping mechanisms, restorative movement and care that can build your resilience, your feeling of wellness, and your-quality-of-life.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Also join guest speaker Dr. Stephanie Garner who\u00a0will give a general vasculitis update and advise on the current thinking of vasculitis and COVID-19.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The vasculitis world today evolves on almost a daily basis so Dr. Garner will tell us what\u2019s new, and of course that includes the current thinking and experience on COVID-19, which isn\u2019t going away anytime soon, so they say! It\u2019s important to stay current on the COVID risks to vasculitis patients, and what they should know about protecting themselves from COVID. There are new COVID treatments that can benefit vasculitis patients (like Plaxovid and Evusheld), but most importantly, what should vasculitis patients do if they get COVID!<\/p>\n
