Vasculitis Fall Symposium 2014

Vasculitis Foundation Canada (VFC) Announces Speakers and Agenda for the 2014 Fall Symposium
Vasculitis Foundation Canada is pleased to announce the proposed speakers and agenda for the VFC Fall Symposium on October 25, 2014 at Toronto Western Hospital. See Here for agenda and speaker list
By all accounts last fall’s symposium was well received although it proved to be a long day. For 2014 VFC will try a new format with morning and afternoon sessions based on two different groups of vasculitis patients. The morning session will be primarily for those with small and medium vessel vasculitis, namely GPA (Wegener’s), MPA, EGPA (Churg-Strauss), PAN and KD. Other vasculitis patients are welcome to attend the morning session too. The afternoon session will be specifically for vasculitis patients with large vessel and variable vessel vasculitis, namely Behcet’s (BD), Cogan’s (CS), Takayasu’s (TAK), and Giant cell arteritis (GCA). See here for a complete list of the various types of vasculitis.
Our guest vasculitis speaker, Dr Carol Langford from the Cleveland Clinic, is a leading authority on vasculitic diseases and will give two lectures, morning and afternoon, covering most of the common vasculitis variants. Dr Langford is a superb speaker, has a vast amount of experience and will provide the most up-to-date information for vasculitis patients.
Each group will also be given research updates, and for the first time ever we are looking to target 100 each of Behcet’s and Giant cell arteritis patients to be included in Dr Siminovitch’s expanded vasculitis and genetics research studies.
Online registration will be commencing soon and the final program complete with lecture times will also be available in the near future.
